Don asks…
How do I finish this off?
This is a explanation and i don’t know how to finish it off and i don’t want to be too complicated. This is what i have written so far:
Global Warming
The Earth is surrounded by a giant, invisible ‘blanket’. We know the ‘blanket’ as the atmosphere. It keeps the temperatures on the Earth’s surface within a range that supports life. Without the greenhouse effect, the Earth would be cold and isolated, maybe even much like the surface of Mars. It would certainly be too cold for life as we know it.
The atmosphere and surface of the Earth are heated by energy from the sun -solar energy. The Earth’s atmosphere contains gases which trap some of the energy, leaving the Earth’s surface. These gases are known as greenhouse gases and are responsible for maintaining the temperatures on Earth.
While much of the heat is radiated into space, some of it is radiated towards the surface. It is this warming of the Earth’s surface by the atmosphere that is called the ‘greenhouse effect’. The ‘greenhouse effect’ is necessary to support life on Earth.
Most scientists agree that an increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the main cause of global warming. This will lead to worldwide changes in weather patterns, melting of polar ice caps and rising sea levels. These changes will impact on your lifestyle, the survival of plants and animals.
A way to decrease the production of greenhouse gases is to reduce the burning of fossil fuels. By conserving the amount of energy we use, for example, electricity, gas and petrol, we can reduce the amount of fossil fuels which are burnt and reduce the amount of greenhouse gases produced. The use of alternative energy sources, such as wind, water and solar energy, can reduce the level of greenhouse gases produced. Planting trees to use more carbon dioxide would help maintain a lower level of greenhouse gases. Reducing your use of paper, recycling newspapers and other paper and using recycled paper will also reduce the cutting down of trees to make new paper.
Green house gasMain sources
Carbon dioxideBurning of coal, gas and oil.
MethaneLivestock (such as cows), rice paddies and mining.
Carbon fluorocarbonsAerosols, refrigerants in refrigerators and air conditioners, the production of plastic foam, dry cleaning.
Nitrous oxides Fertilisers and the burning of fossil fuels, especially petrol.
Help please~! Thanks.

answers:
Something like:
By eliminating some of these main sources of green house gas, and severely limiting those we cannot entirely eradicate, we can reduce global warming to the degree that it will not have a devastating effect on our environment.
